IBD is increasing in Bangladesh, around 3 people are affected by IBD in 100 000. People having concerns about it and healthcare professional are developing a diagnosis process to identify and managing the disease. There are two IBD Clinics in Bangladesh: Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujib Medical University and Dhaka Medical College & Hospital.

In 20th May, 2017 Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujib Medical University organized a World IBD day programme for around 300 people. The Vice Chancellor of the University inaugurated the programme which aimed to raise public awareness and discussion and to support patient and show solidarity with them.
