On 17 May 2026, Italy will celebrate World IBD Day with a national event in Padua, organised by AMICI Italia, bringing together patients, caregivers, healthcare professionals, and institutions to share experiences and explore innovative approaches to care.

The programme will cover clinical, nutritional, and psychosocial aspects of IBD, with opportunities for direct interaction with experts, and participation will be possible both in person and online.

On 18 April, IBD Run 2026 begins, a nationwide virtual run across Italy running until 19 May in celebration of World IBD Day.

Organised by AMICI Italia, the initiative uses a dedicated tracking app allowing participants to record their physical activity wherever they are. Individuals can take part alone or as part of a team, contributing to a shared national goal.
