World IBD Day 2025

For World IBD Day 2025, the China Crohn’s and Colitis Foundation (CCCF), together with the Inflammatory Bowel Disease Group of the Chinese Society of Gastroenterology, brought people together across the country in a nationwide campaign to raise awareness, encourage early diagnosis and advocate for better care for everyone living with IBD.

A record-setting 90 landmarks across 33 cities – including Hangzhou, Shenzhen, Xi’an, Wuhan and Chengdu – were illuminated in purple, shining a light on the invisible challenges faced by IBD patients and encouraging greater public understanding and compassion.

In addition to the lighting campaign, CCCF and medical experts coordinated a series of public initiatives.

Among these, the Run for IBD wellness campaign invited people across the country to support IBD awareness through physical activity and social engagement.

Furthermore, the "My Story with IBD" campaign encouraged patients and families to share personal stories, videos and artwork, amplifying their voices and building public empathy.

Also, the Healthy Intestine, Happy Life educational programme promoted gut health and accurate information about IBD to the wider public.
