To celebrate World IBD Day, the Hellenic Society of Crohn’s Disease’s and Ulcerative Colitis’ patients (HELLESCC) organized many events all over Greece. Among these: 

From Thursday the 17th of May until Saturday the 19th of May 2018 volunteers were invited to donate blood in order to increase the number of blood sacks in HELLESCC Blood Bank at the Tzaneio Hospital of Piraeus. HELLESCC provides with blood any IBD patient whenever needed for surgery and transfusions.

We visited gastro clinics at hospitals all over Greece to distribute information leaflets on IBD to patients, families and healthcare professionals.

In Athens, a gastroenterologist and a rheumatologist gave a speech to patients about IBD. 

In Thessaloniki (North Greece) we celebrated the 19th of May with our doctors, during the National IBD Congress, with the presentation of a short video titled "Travelling in the world of IBD" that was followed by a live music program from the group "Société Démodé".

In Mytilene (Lesvos Island) a symbolic race with motorcycles and bicycles was organized with the participation of members of the Motorbike Club of Lesvos and the Lesvos Cycling Association.
