World IBD Day 2014

In Spain there were several activities taking place to mark World IBD Day.

ACCU España y GETECCU held a Press Conference on May 13th to call for more IBD focused units at hospitals as well as to call for improvements in the quality of life of patients with IBD.

ACCU Granada
In order to inform about IBD, ACCU Granada had an information booth located at the Hospital Universitario Virgen de las Nieves in Granada on May 13th from 9:30 to 13:30, and at the Hospital Universitario San Cecilio de Granada from 9:30 to 13:30 on May 19th.

ACCU Asturias
ACCU Asturias organised a march to celebrate the World IBD Day on Sunday May 18th at 11 AM. The beginning of the itinerary was at Feria de Muestras de Gijón and ended by the Universidad Laboral. Those with enough strength to continue made it back to the parking lot at the Rastro. To join our march you can contact ACCU Asturias (tf: 985 091 237 - email: info@accuasturias.org). A T-shirt will be given to all participants for free.

ACCU Cantabria
On May 29th, ACCU Cantabria organised a conference to celebrate World IBD Day which focused on paediatric IBD and adhesion to treatment. Patients had the chance to share their knowledge about IBD. The conference was hosted at the Centro de Acción Social y Cultural (CASYC) - C/ Tatín 25, from 17 to 19:15 PM.

ACCU Madrid
#Imagina EII is a campaign to raise the awareness on social networks about IBD targeting the Spanish community, organized by “ACCU Madrid” and “Fundación Más Vida” (Argentina) with help from ACCU ESPAÑA and GETECCU. We are trying people to imagine how life with IBD is.
On May 18th #ImaginaEII campaing will be at Malls: “La Vaguada” and “Principe Pío” in Madrid from 11:00 to 21:30

ACCU Catalunya
ACCU Catalunya is organising two events:
We will celebrate the World IBD Day on Sunday 18th in Sabadell with the slogan: "No puc esperar (I can’t wait)! – Improving patient’s quality of life”. We want to show how life with IBD is and we will talk about the disease, patient needs and about the project "No puc esperar! We count on you, your family and friends. United we stand!
